Movie Info: The Dirty Picture (Hindi: द डर्टी पिक्चर) is a 2011 Indian biographical film based on the life of Silk Smitha. The film was directed by Milan Luthria and produced by Shobha Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor, together after their last hit Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai (2010). The film stars Vidya Balan, Naseeruddin Shah, Tusshar Kapoor and Emraan Hashmi in lead roles.
The Dirty Picture released worldwide on December 2, 2011 on the birth anniversary of Smitha. The film released in Hindi and Telugu languages. Upon release, the film had garnered mostly positive reviews, and did well at the box office.
